My First Annual All-Buyout Team

In honor of the NBA announcing their all-stars I thought it be fun to honor those who are so bad they should be honored for it.My criteria is that you must either A)play significant minutes or B) get way too much money to do way too little or C) get paid to stay away. Ladies and Gentlemen your 2007-2008 all buyout team:

Point Guard = Steve Francis ($16.5 millin) Hasn't played since 12/15. He did sign an endorsement deal with chinese shoemaker Anta in the offseason.
Shooting Guard = Mike Finley ($21.9 millin) Always liked the guy and he's good for 10 a night but my goodness look at that salary. I would love to imagine what cuban thinks about when he signs his check every two weeks.
Small Forward = Vince Carter ($13 millin) After the way he left Toronto he became very unlikeable. This guy is a fraud and I'm just happy that experts have stopped confusing him with a leader and an all-star.It's funny but Antawn may have turned out to be the better pro after all.
Power Forward = Raef Lafrentz ($12 millin) I know he's classified as a center, but it's too bad he's not.His stay in Portland has not been very productive.
Center = Ben Wallace ($15.5 miilin) Only two more years...only two more years...!

Well there you go thats the worst starting 5 $68.9 millin can buy you in today's NBA. Thanks to hoopshype.com for the salaries.

I find it difficult to omit Stephan Marbury and his $20 million salary here. Not that that is much more than Francis, but there is something about that $20 million mark. It is funny how people make such a big deal about MLB salaries when the NBA is just as bad. And Chris Webber certainly deserves an honorable mention in this category
